The Thunder Hammers
The Thunder Hammers are a staple of any decent Laguerre frontline. Hailing from the Duran-Laguerre, the Thunder Hammers make nearly exclusive use of powered armour, jetpacks, and armour piercing melee weaponry to exact devastating shock assaults on the family's enemies.
History
Originally just another one of Laguerre's many anti-armour units, the Thunder Hammers excelled at their craft. The Duran-Laguerre family lands were some of the first to be invaded during the Second Great War, and to this day they remain a border state with Maret. Their constant proximity to the enemy has hardened the family into a disciplined subculture, often more ridged than even their allies find comfortable. Their accolades in the war and their willingness to remain staunch guardians of the border has earned them their place among the head families of Laguerre.
Notably near the end of the war, the Thunder Hammers had been sent to slow down an incoming force intent on taking the Aegis Pass (a fortress between the outer colonies and inner states). When they did not return on time, they were given up for loss and the warriors in the fortress prepared for an extended siege. However, when movement was spotted at the far end of the pass, it was not Maret Walkers as the defenders were expecting, but the Thunder Hammers, haggard and broken, but alive. They had laid down such an assault that the Maret soldiers were forced to turn back, or risk total destruction.
