History

In the years following the war, after nearly a decade of tribunals and meetings, it was decided that the Maret family was ultimately at fault for starting the Second Great War when they brought their war machines onto Laguerre land. At the time, Maret maintained that they only did so because Laguerre's presence on their borders was becoming overwhelming and an oversight of the exact border had lead to the initial clash but this sentiment is now largely considered inappropriate to discuss.

The initial clash between the two families was seen as nothing more than another skirmish until two years had gone by with no letting up. Other families began reaching out to try and find a way to end the conflict but one by one each was swayed to a side until lines were drawn and it became a multi-family spanning conflict.

On the Maret side of the war, Kota, Magrina, and Kontolis banded together against those on the Laguerre side: Mahiri, Enoka, and Lenui. The war maintained a fairly balanced effort back and forth until Magrina pulled out of the war and Kota's reach began to get stretched as they moved their flying cities farther apart.

Ultimately the war ended in peace talks. No blame was initially taken by either side, though as previously explained, Maret was ultimately found at fault in the following years. The Second Great war remains fresh in many peoples minds, even though there are few left alive that actually experienced it, and tensions remain high between certain families unwilling to let go of grudges.
