Kimudoism
Kimudoism believes in the divine nature of the natural world. It does not see the natural world as a singular, personal deity, but instead as a living force of power. This power, known as the River, flows through all people and effects them in different ways, but it is the root of the soul. Upon death, the soul simply leaves the body it was inhabiting and returns to the flow of the River until it once again finds its way to a new vessel; be that person, animal, tree, or otherwise. It is believed that psionic powers, with the exception of metapsionics, are an affront to the River due to their potential to disrupt and alter both time and space.
Divine Origins
Kimudoism began with the reemergence of psionics in the sector. It was picked up by the original rulers of the Sha Savirit Empire and eventually adopted as the cultural religion.
Priesthood
Metapsionics are seen as a necessary evil gifted to humanity by the River in order to open the way to purging those truly riddled with sin. Many priests within Kimudoism are metapsions who spend most of their time helping the Agency of Psionic Enforcment.
Sects
A small subsection of Kimudoism, separate from the Empire, follow much of the same practices but believe that Psionics are a gift from the River and actively seek them out for wisdom and leadership.
