The Kontolis Family
The Kontolis Family took the body modification of the Lenui family to a zealous extreme. It used to be tradition in the Kontolis to replace portions of your body with metal prosthetics as representations of milestones and growth, eventually replacing everything but their brain and leaving an individual made entirely of metal. Now, there are no Kontolis left made of flesh and bone, rendering all of them effectively immortal. Unfortunately, after the last Great War, a terrible disease took the mind of most Kontolis, transforming them into little more than savage machines. The lands once owned by the family have fallen to ruin, and are too dangerous for most to enter. Those Kontolis who managed to avoid that horrific fate now wander the land, strangers everywhere they go.

Kontolis had tried to stay neutral in the second Great War, but inevitably was forced to enter when both sides began pushing at their borders. The war was tough on Kontolis and near its end they discovered a terrifying disease that gripped their territories and their people.
Kontolis went silent for a while after the war, with only small bits of news slipping out now and then, until a large group of merchants vanished within their borders. After several weeks of discussion a delegation from several families entered Kontolis to search for the merchants and find answers. Only one returned, a Lenui man who claimed to have seen Kontolis walking without purpose, standing staring at the sky or the ground. When approached they would become aggressive and violent, but were unwilling (or unable) to speak. In the capital, the delegation had been overwhelmed, and the Lenui man had barely made it out with his life. The other families declared Kontolis territory too dangerous for further investigation and sent out word throughout their lands that it was to be avoided.
It was not until nearly two decades had passed since the Great War that Kontolis were discovered leaving the territory. At first this was seen as a potential threat, until it was discovered that these Kontolis were able to speak and think as well as anyone. Seemingly having regained their sentience, but missing their memories, the Kontolis survivors were welcomed into the families and patrols were set up by bordering territories to try and help any further survivors.
