Having taken her Oath to Devotion, aligned with her heritage, she saw it has her duty to bring light wherever she went. However, about six months before meeting the party that would become The Guardian's of the Lost, she had undertaken a mission that has been wiped from her memory. She awoke after the gap in her memory in the mud, her oath broken, her heart filled with vengeance, and the light inside her a pool of fear and anger. She still travelled after that trying to spread the light, but her efforts shifted from teaching, to the eradication of the Mother's enemies.

He had fallen off his ship and she rescued and nursed him back to health. They travelled together for nearly a year and a half before they got married in Hollowhill. They continued to travel and make friends in their journey, including a philanthropist from Kurleigh by the name of Anton. A few years later, Anton informed them that someone was after Niamh's expertise and is going to kill Calder in order to get Niamh to cooperate. The three of them fake Clader's death, but Niamh is made to forget this by interference from the Seraph. She continues as a travelling bard, believing she is a widow but never truly moving on from her husband. She eventually joins the party that would become The Guardian's of the Lost as they are hired by Anton to enter Prathia to rescue one of his allies from a Harwood Prison.
