Elizabeth Hardy was born to Owen Hardy and Nishida Mamiko on a cold December morning. Owen was away a lot though Nishida would always tell Elizabeth stories of her father, off saving the galaxy. She often stayed up late into the night, looking up at the sky and imagining her father driving across exotic worlds and meeting strange and wonderful people. Elizabeth excelled in school and was bumped ahead a few grades. The teachers called her genius, her mother called her Sakura, most of the other kids called her weird. She didn’t mind. She didn’t want to play their games, instead she spent her time with Mr. Bocelli in his garage. She was happiest lying on her back, under a motor with a wrench in her hand and oil dripping on her face.
